As early as 1496 the word cohiba was used by the natives of hispaniola (now santo domingo) to describe the cured leaves of tobacco they smoked for pleasure. while sailing with christopher columbus on the his second voyage ,fomanus pane, a spanish monk , wrote of this incident and gave us the name cohiba . the fertile soil and ideal climate of the dominican republic , where cohiba was first smoked , over 500 years ago , makes it an ideal source for fine tobaccos. among all the hand -rolled premium cigars from the dominican republic , our cohiba cigars have been the most exquisite since we introduced
